Calgarians for Property Liberty

Fighting for Housing Choice

Council Has Voted to Repeal

The Public Hearing Has Concluded

Calgary City Council has stripped property owners of the right to build homes on their own land. This will not stand.

Your Rights Were Taken — Not Lost

Calgary City Council has voted to repeal citywide rezoning, taking away the right of property owners to build gentle density on their own land. Thousands of Calgarians spoke up — and Council chose to ignore them.

To every Calgarian who emailed, testified, and shared their story — you were right, and history will prove it. Your rights were taken, not lost.

The rezoning gave property owners the freedom to build duplexes, townhomes, and small apartments — homes that young families, seniors, and first-time buyers desperately need. Council just took that away. The result will be fewer homes, higher prices, and a city that serves only those who already got theirs.

What happens now? We remember who voted against our rights, we stay organized, and we make this an election issue. Every councillor who voted for the repeal will answer to voters.

What You Can Do Now
